Get Involved
The Friends of Claremont Fan Court School are run by volunteers for the benefit of our children and the wider school community.
There are many rewarding ways to get involved – as a class rep, as an event coordinator or volunteer, or simply attending events. All contributions, both time and financial, whether large or small, are gratefully received and will improve the school environment.

How to help The Friends of Claremont Fan Court School
Become A Class Rep
Being a class rep involves giving small pockets of time over the whole year.
You might:
- Organise meet-ups for parents in your year group
- Distribute communications on behalf of the Friends of Claremont
- Recruit volunteers to help at events
- Attend Friends meetings with other reps for your school
Being a rep is great because
You get to know lots of your year’s parents, which is great if you’re new to the area or the school. You are also the first to know of upcoming events and school plans.
If you’d like to be a rep, please contact your current year reps for more details.
Join an Event Committee
Event committees are formed for each of our events. It’s a great chance to have an impact over a short period of time.
You might:
- Attend event meetings
- Brainstorm ideas for the event
- Help create comms for the event
- Help on the event day
Being on an event committee is great because
You can use your specific skills and help with the bits that suit you. It’s a great opportunity to meet and socialise with other parents too.
Help at Good as New Sale
Sales take place each term and there is a good team of volunteers available. This means even if you’ve volunteered, you don’t need to help with all sales through the year.
You might:
- help sort uniform donations,
- arrange uniform items for sale,
- help parents find sizes they are looking for,
- give uniform advice where you can.
Helping at the sale is great because
You get a chance to shop earlier than the main opening time, with first pick at the newly donated items. You get to use your school knowledge to help new parents with uniform buying tips.
If you’d like to volunteer at a sale – ask your class rep for the Good As New WhatsApp group link.
Volunteering to help at an Event
Give as little or as much of your time as you want.
This might involve:
- turning up a bit earlier at an event to help set up,
- taking a shift during the event,
- clearing up after the event.
Volunteering at an event is great because
In an event team, people often feel a strong sense of togetherness, and you can pitch in without needing to dedicate a lot of time.
Your class rep will send out calls for help at events through out the year. Get in touch with your rep to help.
